Practice Owner
Gary Selmonsky , DVM Dr. Gary Selmonsky, the proprietor of East Bay Veterinary Hospital, has been an important addition to the South Shore community since his arrival in February 1988. Born and raised on Long Island, East Bay was a natural fit. Although at first contemplated continuing as an Equine veterinarian at Belmont Racetrack, where he assisted for 5 years, he returned to his great love of small animal medicine. East Bay Veterinary Hospital, with Dr. Selmonsky's direction, has expanded in size twice. The hospital now offers state of the art digital radiology, ultrasound, and countless other improvements. Dr. Selmonsky would like to thank the local community for all of their support over the years. He is honored to care for our very important companions. When not caring for your pets, Dr. Selmonsky enjoys skiing, scuba diving, art museums, theatre, his two Italian greyhounds, Yorkie and Chiquitta, his heinz variety.
Veterinarians
Amanda Maltese , DVM
Welcome to our newest Associate, Dr. Amanda Maltese! Many of our clients might think she looks familiar and they're right! Dr. Maltese has been part of our East Bay family since she joined us as a volunteer back in 1994. There was never any question that this vibrant, young woman, whose ambition was only unmatched by her enthusiasm, would become a veterinarian. While pursuing broad interests in academia, she has worked in a variety of animal care settings. Dr. Maltese obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology & Biotechnology at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. She then went on to earn her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at Cornell University. Dr. Maltese has an extensive array of interests, including pain management, gastrointestinal disease, and chronic disease care. She is passionate about being a veterinarian and enjoys interacting with her clients and patients. Outside of EBVH, Dr. Maltese enjoys spending time with her two dogs (Kanga, a Boston terrier, and Firulais, a Corgi mix) and family. |
